FLAT KOYAMA

This is a shared residence with a narrow frontage of 5.2 m.
The project was set out with the objective of securing minimum 20㎡ for each housing unit.
Building the construction area of 50㎡ within the given site area of 65.5㎡ was already difficult enough; securing 20㎡ for each housing unit made the project an even more difficult one.
Such conditions left no room for unused space and thus, we removed corridor from the plan. Despite the confinement of this flat plan, we were able to achieve a comfortable space in which housing unit, kitchen and bathroom are separated, instead of a common studio-type arrangement where kitchen is usually found in front of an entrance. With a total of 11 housing units from the basement floor all the way to the fifth floor, we were able to ensure profitability as well.
