HOUSE HIGASHIGAOKA

House Higashigaoka is a residence for a family of five.
The site is on a corner block and enjoys good sun exposure and airflow, but the height was considerably restricted due to elevated slant limits, which made planning difficult.
The side facing the wider road has a certain level of traffic, so we decided to place the entrance approach on the quieter, narrower road.
To improve the livability of the meals area where the family gathers and the study room, we moved all the bedrooms and wet areas to the first floor and planned the shared spaces on the second floor.
The wide balcony, which was also requested by the client, and the living room and dining room are connected so that they can be fully opened when the weather is fine.
The study room, which we imagined the children would use, has been placed to be visible from the living room, and although it gives a sense of connection, it can also be fully partitioned off.
The rooftop has been planned as a second balcony so that the family can enjoy an outdoor space without worrying about being seen by those around them.
As the heights of the buildings around them are also restricted, the family can experience excellent views.
We have actively incorporated an atrium and connections with the outside into the plan and realized an open, comfortable family space.
